The Best is Yet to Come

This world.

Full of stuff. Full of waste. Full of work. Full of want. Full of need. Full of desire. Full of disappointment. Full of disagreement. Full of disease. Full of disgust.

The world can be great. Full of beauty. Full of love. Full of life. Full of joy. Full of celebration. Full of blessing... and let’s not forget music.

With that in mind, as wonderful or as terrible as this world can be... this is not it.

This is not our final home.

“For I am confident of this very thing, He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ."

He began a good work in you. There won’t be a time, while you are still in this world, that we’ll say that He has completed His good work in us.  He is always working and continuing to work until we get to heaven.

“As this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment, so that you may discover the things that are excellent, in order to be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ." Philippians 1:10

This world is not our final home.

This is our "Chelsea Park" house. We loved this house.  We have so many memories there.  Some of you who are reading have a lot of memories there, too. This house almost felt "public" there were always cars parked outside, kids were always running in and out. and I loved it!

Lots of laughter. Lots of food. Lots of milestones. Good conversations. New friendships.

We knew this wasn't our "final home". We knew that we wanted a one level home when we bought it, but this house is gem and we couldn't pass it up! Click hereto read more about our "must haves" for our next home. This house was amazing and SO hard to let go!

When we knew it was time to sell, we know going to the closing would be hard! We knew there were better things to come, but we just didn't know what that was yet.
Right before we moved I heard a story about someone as they picked up the plates from dinner, "Keep your fork, the best is yet to come!"  As heavy as my heart was to lose this house, I knew there was a greater yes in our future. I took this fork to the closing table, every time I got teared up I would remember..
"The best is yet to come!"

Although I'm talking about real, physical homes, this is also true about our future.

"With Jesus, even in our darkness moments,  the best remains and the very best is yet to be."-Corrie Ten Boom

“For I am confident of this very thing, He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ."  Philippians 1:6

The day of Christ means the time when Christ returns. When we reach heaven there no more bad... only good.

Even though our physical location is in this world we, as true followers of Christ, are actually citizens of heaven, waiting to reach our final home.

“Above all, you must live as citizens of heaven, conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News about Christ. ...”

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭1:27‬ ‭NLT‬‬.
